PX150 Engine rebuild

Postby Richiematt on Tue Sep 08, 2009 6:20 pm

My mate has a PX that has been sat in his shed ever since i sold it to him in 03. I managed to start it but
am having a job keeping ot goin. Its very old (86) and no compression.

I have promised that i will get it running nice and was gonna start with a carb clean and new plug. But it propably needs an engine rebuild. With a Lammie i would have looked at a rebore and new gaskets, oil seals and bearings, Clutch plates and nything else that looked bad. But with a Vespa not sure.
We were thinking if he wants the engine like new then new 150 top end and carb and exhaust and clutch however is there any other bits you would change?

I'm gonna get myself a Vespa Engine rebuild dvd to start

kickstart rubbers for the inside and sticl your bearings in the freezer over night as its easier to put them in after you have heated up the casings where the bearings are
