What a great year this is turning out to be - when we started putting the year's programme together back in December/January many of us hoped our events and rideouts would appeal to all members and would turn out to be successes. I really don't think we could have asked for any more so far this year as every single one (including the wet ride to Lincoln and back) have been thoroughly enjoyable. None more so than the last two "Quadrophenia" days. When I started discussing supporting the show with representatives of the production company and the theatre I thought we would have 40 scooters on the rideout. Last night was amazing - I think there were 80 to 100 scooters outside the Arts. I didn't get the opportunity to count them all but others tried to and this figure is the considered result. Thanks to everyone from Cambridge, and to all those visitors from other clubs and towns, who took the trouble to turn up. The scooters looked fantastic - well done for cleaning and polishing them all. Also a big thanks to all the 'mods', young and old, who for a while took all of our minds back to the 1960s.
It's now time to start thinking about the next organised CSC event. Sunday 12th July is our planned annual ride to Hunstanton and, if it is as good as last year's was, it is another rideout not to be missed.
We will meet at Quayside from 9.30 am and set off at 10.00 am along the A10 to the BP filling station on the Ely by-pass at the roundabout (Chatteris left, city centre right). The filling station will be the meeting point for anybody joining the rideout from the Ely, St Ives and Huntingdon areas. Riders should all ensure they are at the filling station waiting by 10.20 am. The rideout will leave the filling station at approximately 10.30 am and we should get to the beach at Hunstanton between 11.30 am and noon.
Please add your name to this thread if you expect to come along stating whether you will join us from Cambridge or from Ely. We will remind members again at next Wednesday's monthly meeting.
