That's great Smithy. If CSC are 20 strong, and the Hooters are say another 10 strong, then we should be over 40 by the time we are riding the last leg between Kings Lynn and Hunstanton. That would be very impressive indeed. Thanks for drumming up support and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Spoke to Jeff last night. He is happy to lead the ride from Quayside and he will set off promptly at 10.00 am on Sunday morning. I will post the full list of the final CSC riders, and where they will be joining the ride, on this thread sometime on Saturday. We are still looking for a volunteer to be the tail end rider. My memory is not as good as it used to be - did Paul volunteer or am I imagining that?

If Ian Morgan is reading this - Ian are you happy to ride as 'No 2' and hold up the traffic coming from the right at each roundabout? I thought with your 100 mph scoot that, if you did this, you were the one rider who could quickly get back to the No 2 position from the back of the ride after all the riders have gone round the roundabout.

The weather forecast keeps changing but the latest one is looking reasonably encouraging. It is now indicating that the rain in the west this morning (Saturday) will be blown quickly accross the country by the strong winds and it will cross East Anglia tonight and early tomorrow morning. It showed the rain clearing Cambridgeshire by 9.00 am tomorrow and then the rest of Sunday being sunny. Let's hope they're right.

The final details for tomorrow's ride to Hunstanton (CSC 2009 Official Outing No 10) are as follows:

Those leaving from Cambridge should assemble at Quayside between 9.30 am and 10.00 am Jeff has kindly agreed to lead the ride and he will set off promptly at 10.00 am. The riders down to leave Quayside are:

1. Jeff
2. Ian M
3. Paul & Kieran
4. Steve D
5. Stuart & Di
6. Chris 2470
7. Add.81 & Claire
8. John A
9. Roger G
10. Dave G
11. Ron

Paul has also kindly agreed to be our 'Tail End Charlie'. Hopefully Ian M will take up the 'No 2 rider' position so that he can hold up the traffic at roundabouts and junctions, to keep everyone together, before then quickly resuming his position behind Jeff. Please be aware of him coming up fast on your outside after every major junction. Jeff will lead the ride along Chesterton Road, up Milton Road and out of Cambridge on the A10.

Riders leaving from Waterbeach should assemble at the Waterbeach/Landbeach junction on the A10 (The Slap Up) between 10.00 am and 10.10 am and be ready to join the ride as it goes past at about 10.10 am. Those riders down to pick up the ride at The Slap Up are:

12. Delboy
13. Andy (Rossman)
14. Dave P
15. Scouse
16. Richie
17. Ollie

The ride will then continue on the A10. Those riders leaving from the BP filling station at Ely should assemble at the filling station by 10.20 am. Jeff will lead the ride to the filling station forecourt where we will meet up and leave at approximately 10.30 am. Either Jeff or I will lead the ride to Hunstanton from there. Those riders down to pick up the ride at the BP filling station on the Ely by-pass are:

18. Me (with any riders from St Neots Hooters SC who would have joined me from Earith Bridge)
19. Simon
20. Mark
21. GaryT5

We will then go straight up the A10 past Littleport and Downham Market and we will stop to re-fuel (for those that want or need to) at the Esso filling station about 400 metres before the Kings Lynn roundabout. We will be met there by about 10 - 15 riders from Kings Lynn and Lynx SCs who will be assembling from 11.00 am. Hopefully (if all goes as planned) we should leave the Esso filling station between 11.15 am and 11.30 am getting us to the beach front in Hunstanton between noon and 12.30 am.

I know that one or two riders need to be back in Cambridge for previous committments they have on Sunday evening. It would be nice to ride back as one group and the plan is to set off on the return journey at 3.30 pm. Some people may want to stay in Hunstanton a little longer and, if they do, can they please let me know while we are in Hunstanton so that the main return group doesn't wait around for them. Please remember the club's advice that it is best for at least two people to ride together in case any problems arrise.

Here's to a good day on the North Norfolk coast tomorrow. Ride safely.

I'm just having a cup of tea and looking out at a clearing sky. I've also just checked the weather forecast again and it is going to be a good day - sunny intervals, 10mph - 12 mph WSW winds and temperatures rising to 23C by this afternoon. The forecast is also saying that there may be an odd, isolated shower or two but these are likely in the South West, along the South coast and in the North East - East Anglia is predicted to be shower free!!

So it should be a good scootering day. Pity about Dave not coming so that reduces us to 10 from Quayside and 20 overall - assuming Steve's tum and bum are a bit better and he's up to doing 120 miles or so on a scooter today!!

See you all later.

Hi everybody, just spoken to Lee, he said he is perfectly okay just a couple of scrapes but he said his pride is dented more than anything else, his scoot is not too bad. Thanks to Ian and Dave for helping Lee, apart from that a brilliant day no other problems, hope everyone else got home alright, pics to follow. Dave

I also hope Lee is OK, I'm sure he will be fine its his scoot then will need a little TLC but as Dave says it not too bad, at least he is safe. Also big up to Ian for staying around and sorting Lee's lift and also for getting Add.81 up and running.

I must also say that today I feel very proud to me a member of the CSC, its only in time of trouble that you really see people true worth, hence what a fantastic bunch of guys (and Gals) we have amongst us. : Long may it continue.
It's the furthest I have traveled in one hit so it's a bit of a monkey of my back and I thank you all for that.

Ride safe and see you all soon.
Best Regards

Chris A
